Each and every day, Sagesse staff engage in (and sometimes lead) curious and fierce conversations. In fact, we see this as a necessary means to ending domestic abuse.

If you are a values-driven individual, undaunted by the idea of leaning in and courageously allowing yourself to be seen, we want to hear from you!

Why Sagesse?

First, a bit about us.

Sagesse is on a mission to empower people, organizations and communities to disrupt the systems and patterns that lead to abuse. Through this, meaningful connections are developed that set-in motion a process of renewal, restoration and rejuvenation.

We work across Alberta to support anyone impacted by abuse, including those at risk, the family and friends of people experiencing abuse and people involved in sex work. Headquartered in Calgary, our programs include peer support, collective impact initiatives and informal supporter training.

So, what does that mean for you? When you work with us, you can expect:

To be valued for who you are – Sagesse embodies a culture of belonging where every employee is recognized and valued for their contributions, establishing a norm of equitable practices, authentic self-expression based on individual choice and learning from challenges, thus directly reinforcing our collective mission to eradicate coercive control.

Inclusive benefits and wellness support – We offer competitive benefits to all full and part-time (20 hours or more) employees which includes extended health and dental care, a health spending account and reproductive care. We actively work to support your life choices through a flexible, hybrid work environment and up to 12 wellness days.

Challenging and innovative work – Innovation is at the centre of our work. Each employee develops a personal innovation plan in partnership with their supervisor to support ongoing learning and growth. While we’re a small organization, our mission embraces diverse skills and approaches.
