Abuse, including coercive control, can be hard to detect, especially when you are personally involved. It can impact every facet of your life, including how you make decisions and advocate for yourself. This screening tool provides information about your domestic abuse risk level. This can be helpful in identifying potential power imbalances or worrying trends in your relationship. This assessment is not designed to be used as evidence of the existence of (or absence of) domestic abuse.

This screening is confidential. The details of a person’s answers to this questionnaire will not be released to anyone. If you provide formal permission through the screening process, we can share the result with your mediator or lawyer. The screening result can provide your legal support with critical insights which may aid them in advocating for you.

How it works

Once you have paid using the form to the right, you will be redirected to the High-Conflict Screening Tool. There will be a short survey available to fill out on your screen, and you will also receive a link to access the survey if you would like to complete it later or send the survey to a client or contact to complete. The survey must be completed within 21 days.

Once the survey is complete, you will be contacted within seven days. A member of Sagesse’s expert team of social workers will review your responses and follow-up with you at your provided contact phone or email. If required, secondary screening will be carried out at no extra charge.

At the end of the process, you will receive a completion letter stating your risk level. If you have provided permission, this result will also be shared with your lawyer.

If you and another party are seeking a joint assessment for mediation or arbitration, you both need to purchase screening and follow the process above. Your result will be matched with the other party, and a single assessment will be provided to you, the other party, and if consent is given, your mediator. If we are unable to contact one or both parties completing the High-Conflict Screening, results may be delayed, or the assessment will be considered incomplete or void after 21 days.
